Make Your Own Sudoku
Sudoku is one of the most popular games in the arena of puzzles. It is a game which forces the solution seeker to think and analyze to arrive at a given result. One has to master the use of numbers and reasoning in order to solve a Sudoku puzzle. So, what is this game all about? Sudoku is a puzzle wherein a player has to complete the grid of boxes by filling in each with a number from 1 through 9. However, the twist here is that there should not be duplicate numbers in any particular row, column or 3 by 3 boxes. The solutions for each puzzle is unique and the intensity of its toughness depends on how many numbers are given at the start. So let us try to know how to make a Sudoku puzzle on your own:
- Firstly you will have to create puzzle grid to start making the game. Start off by drawing 10 vertical and evenly spaced parallel lines and then draw 10 horizontal parallel lines over them. This shall give you 81 boxes i.e. 9 boxes in each of the rows and columns.
- Now you will have to separate each grid of 3 by 3 boxes. You can do this by darkening the 4th and 7th horizontal lines from the top and then 4th and 7th vertical lines from the left of the puzzle. After this you can notice that a tic-tac-toe pattern had been created in the middle of the puzzle. You will have with you nine 3 by 3 boxes.

- You shall now have to put in the numbers inside the boxes making sure that you abide by the Sudoku rules. Remember that each of the rows, columns and 3 by 3 boxes should contain the numbers 1 through 9 without any duplication. Follow this rule to completely fill up the puzzle grid. Incase you want to make some more Sudoku puzzles; you just have to start with a different number or a different location of that number. It is advised that you keep the finished puzzle with yourself as the answer key.
- Now repeat the first and the second steps to start with a new grid. Put around 28-30 numbers all over the puzzle grid as the given numbers which are copied from the puzzle you have just created in the third step. However, it is up to you whether you want to give more or lesser numbers as the exposed numbers in order to make the game more difficult. One thing which you have to be sure about is that the location of the placement of the new numbers is same as the placement in the answer key.
