A medium to small glass test tube
Large canister of mapp glass
Torch head for mapp glass
Goggles
Heavy and protective clothing
Welding gloves

The process of making a glass tobacco pipe is as given below:

You will first have to prepare yourself for this task by wearing the goggles, welding gloves and heavy clothing. If you have hair which can fall on your face while working, you have to tie it back. This is done as a precautionary measure to protect the hair from getting burned or singed.
Now you shall have to prepare the materials in a location which is away from the flammable objects. However make sure that the location is not too cold. This is because glass has a property of getting shattered if it cools suddenly after being heated. Therefore it is recommended that a temperature of over 70 degrees Fahrenheit is just perfect for this purpose.
Light the torch on and allow it to burn with a medium flame. You will have to make sure that the base of the flame is blue and the tip feathers slightly. It is worth noting here that a 3-4 inch flame is sufficient.
Now you will have to hold the glass test tube to heat its rounded end. However, remember to move the tube back and forth so that the tube gets heated evenly from all sides. Heat the tube till it becomes red hot and starts losing its shape.
Now carefully blow into the open end of the tube while heating the other end. Continue blowing till the end of the tube starts to bubble out. During this process you have to make sure that the walls of the bubbles are thick and even.
Leave the tube to cool after the bubbles start forming on the end.
You will have to then heat one particular spot on the outer edge of the bubble. You can do this with the torch at such an angle so that it forms a bowl. Make sure that you do not do this at the tip because you have to keep the outer rim of the bowl parallel to the length of the pipe. However, you can execute this process on the side of the bubble.
Continue heating the bubble and simultaneously, start blowing on the outside of it just where you are heating the bubble. This will make the glass sink into the bubble and form a bowl which is deep enough to hold tobacco in it.
Leave the pipe to cool off.
Now you have to torch the tip of the flame to the center of the bowl to heat up a small red spot. After this has been created, you have to continue to suck in on the opposite end of the pipe till you have a hole through the bowl. Keep this hole same as the size of a pencil lead or else tobacco can go through it.
