You too can make your own family guy character with ‘Family Guy’ features, or even a caricature of someone you know. All you need to do is to carefully observe the characters of the show and use some basic drawing techniques and creativity to create an interesting sketch.

Here are some instructions that will help you draw your own family guy character.

Instructions

First draw a large oval shape for the head of the cartoon character. Now divide this head into four parts by adding a cross or a T. This division will act as a guideline while adding facial details. Make one more oval shape for the belly portion of the character.
Now carefully mark out the outlines for the shoulders and elbows. Make use of curved lines and ovals for creating these features. Make sure you draw the shoulder guidelines to the right and left of the upper chest and the elbows in the middle of the arms.
Add the lower portion of the character by drawing legs with knees and feet. For legs you can make rectangular shapes with its upper portion being large semi-circle joining the belly part. If you want you can add some guidelines for the knees in the middle of the legs. Add shoes to the feet by making half oval shapes.
Now add facial features to the character. At the upper portion of the face draw two circles for the eyes with small dots as pupils. Just above the eyes make the eyebrows with curved lines. For nose draw a U or an L shape. You can also add ears by making semi-circles on both the sides of the head.
Create mouth with a curved line. Depending upon the expression you want to give to your character, you can make this curved line smaller or bigger and facing upwards or downwards. Add hair to the character by curved lines around the top. If you want you can avoid making hair and simply add a cap to the top of the head.
Give finishing details to the character. You can make a button-down shirt with two triangles just under the head and above the chest. Now draw a vertical line all the way down to the waist. Add buttons to the one side of this line. Create pant pockets by simply making a curved line to the left and right side of the hips.

The cartoon character is complete. If you want you can add colors to the sketch and make it more eye catching or else practice making it for some more times until you are satisfied that you have achieved what you desired to portray. You can always experiment with different shapes in order to make the features more interesting.
