How to Wax Legs How to Wax LegsNobody likes to have coarse hair or ingrown hair on any part of the body; especially the parts that are uncovered for most of the times like legs. Clean legs look very sexy and attractive and to achieve that women don’t mind spending bucks on expensive beauty parlors. But what if you know to do it yourself? Well, waxing is the best way to remove unwanted hairs that you can try even at home.

Waxing is a very effective and simple process. If you learn the exact method, it will not only save your money that you spend on parlors but will also be lot more convenient for you since you will be able to do it as and when you feel like, without depending on anybody’s help. Following are useful waxing instructions that will help you wax your legs conveniently at home:

Instructions

  1. Buy a waxing kit containing wooden applicator or spatula, strips and wax. There are several waxing kits available online. If you want you can try online sugar kits that are effective and easier to use.
  2. Have enough hair. Grow your leg hair to at least ¼ of an inch which will take nearly two weeks.
  3. Place the wax in a container and heat it either in the microwave or by placing it in a pot with water on the stove top. Follow the package instructions because heating time generally varies depending on which wax you use.
  4. Cleanse your legs prior waxing
  5. Apply wax to a small area of your leg with the spatula. Make sure you apply it evenly in the direction of hair growth. For better application, hold the spatula at a 90-degree angle and then apply a smooth, thin layer of wax. Avoid applying too thick layer that may cause problem while removing it.legs_wax_420x315.jpg
  6. Now cover the wax applied area with a fabric strip. Apply it in the same direction that you applied the wax. Leave a part of the strip at the end that is not attached to hair. For instance, if your hair growth is from right to left, then leave the leftover strip on the left side.
  7. Before the wax cools, smooth the strip and press it firmly over the leg in the direction of the hair growth.
  8. Remove the strip. Grasp the leftover end of strip that is not attached to hair and pull off the strip in opposite direction of hair growth at one go. Avoid pulling the strip up which is the natural tendency because it’s less painful if you keep the strip as close to skin as possible If you notice some wax with hair remains, then put the strip back on hair and pull off.
Repeat the process until all the hair is removed from your legs.
Use tweezers to remove small hairs missed by waxing.
  9. Now wash off the skin. Do not use hot water to remove wax as it may cause burns. You can use wax remover, baby oil or even petroleum jelly to remove remaining wax from skin.
  10. Soothe your waxed skin by applying after wax-lotion.

Tips

  • Do not overheat the wax. Carefully read the instructions.
  • If you have varicose veins or phlebitis do not wax your legs.
