Wave Your Hair with a Straight Iron:

  • Allow your straight iron to get heated up to the specified temperature for sometime.
  • Keep your hair ready washed. Air dry or pat-dry your hair completely before you begin.
  • Apply a gel or lotion that is sometimes specific for straightening to protect your hair from damage.
  • Part your hair into three-to four sections and clip them up in order to avoid mixing up.
  • Take one section of your hair and re-divide the section into smaller one-fourth size of each section.
  • Enclose this portion of your hair within the heated straightener and hold them for about 10 minutes in a twisted position.
  • Let loose the hair and repeat for every sub-section and then with the rest of the hair.
  • With respect to whether you like them loose or stiff, you could either stop at this step or spray with a hairspray.

Wave Your Hair with a Marcel Iron:

  • In order to wave your hair with this marcel iron, follow the steps same as above till you need to part your hair into sections.
  • Next, roll the one-fourth section of your hair and glide them along the hair. Do not make the rolls too tight as this could lead to curls.
  • Hold them rolled until your hair begins to get heated up.
  • Let loose and repeat the steps with the rest of your hair.
  • Hair spray if necessary.

2) It is possible to wave your hair without using these instruments and the ways that are adopted are most preferred and healthier too.

  • Tress: Although this method of waving your hair also requires that your hair is clean, but effective waving also requires that your hair is damp. Part your hair into sections, tress them and tie. Cover with a cloth overnight and have beautiful wavy hair when let loose.
  • Curlers: Curlers or rollers could also be employed for waving as large rollers yield wavy rather than curly hair.
  • Twisting your hair around a wire-like thing could also get you that bouncy wavy hair style.
