How to Use Hair Wax
Don’t the models on the magazine covers look amazing! Everything about them, from the hair on their head to the tips of their nails, looks fabulous. If you are wondering how these models manage to get such wonderful hairstyles and also manage to keep it in place, then there is a surprise for you. It is nothing but wax! And in fact, this is not a formulation of the present day fashion world. It started long back in Egypt, where beeswax was melted and fashioned over the hair to keep the insects and dust away. But today, the hair wax available can help you style your hair in many ways and you can learn how to use wax.
- It is important to learn the intricacies of choosing the proper hair wax. There is a certain number on the label. Usually, smaller numbers indicate a softer wax with less holding power. If you come across the number 1, then you have the least styling control and the number 10 gives you the highest.
- Short hair can be spiked up by applying a little wax. First, convert the wax to a soft cream by putting a little on your palms and rubbing it thoroughly. After the wax is ready to be rubbed onto the hair, run your fingers through your damp hair and form spikes out of it. Then allow the hair to dry up but without the use of a hair dryer.
- Add a little hair wax to each strand but only at the ends to help hold the curls in a better way. Then apply hot rollers and style them to your taste. Once they are dry, you will have wonderful curls to show off and they will surely bounce more and for a longer time because of the hair wax.

- If you want to rejuvenate your spiral perm, then wash and towel dry your hair. As described above, you can again rub some wax onto your palm and get your perm into the perfect setting. It is better to avoid putting wax on the scalp and instead putting it on the strands and at the ends.
- If you are African- American born, then you can liberally apply wax on your hair after giving it a shampoo and then braiding narrow strands of hair like scalp braids. Even the frizzies and coarse and extremely curly hair can be disciplined with the use of liquid wax.
- If you want a carefree look, you can make the best use of liquid wax and create separate strands of hair. In the same way as before, you can rub some wax thoroughly on your palms and cream it up before applying to each strand to give a “separate” look. Chunking the hair will help in this process.
Now that you know how to use wax, you can style it just like the movie stars do. Be careful to use very little wax when you start and then get more as you proceed. Usually, a little wax will go a long way in getting your hair styled.
