These nails are available in different varieties and with different components. Silk wrap nails are a specific type of fake fingernails made from pieces of silk material. Similar to other wraps, these wraps are cut into the shape and size of fingernails. Small amount of glue is used for applying these silken nails to the surface, and these wraps are buffed to the surface after the glue has fully dried up. These wraps are popular among people due to their flexibility and natural look. These are thinner than the other fake wraps made from acrylic or gel, but thicker than the natural nails. People use these silk wrap nails to protect their weakened, cracked or damaged natural fingernails. The wraps are used directly over the natural nails as these allow the natural nails to grow underneath without being cut off completely. Some people even use these wraps to bind together other types of cracked artificial fingernails. The cracked nail tips are bound together with multiple layers of the silk wrap nails. It is always better to take the help of an experienced nail technician for applying, maintaining, and removing these wraps correctly.

Instructions

  1. The simplest but time consuming process for removing the silk wrap nails is by soaking off these fake nails. Even though you have to spend some time in this process, this is the most accurate method of removing your artificial nails. Before soaking, remove the nail polish and file these with a hard grit nail file. Bring a glass bowl and fill it with any artificial nail removing product. Soak the silk wrap nails for about five minutes inside the bowl. Remove your hand and file the nails, Again, soak the nails for another five minutes and do the filing again. Keep repeating the soaking and filing process till all the fake nails are removed completely. Gently buff off the residual glue with a buffer and clean your hands. As soon as the silk wrap is removed, use some warm and soapy water to wash your hands and wipe with a towel. Once your hands are dry, you have to apply a moisturizer on your fingertips, cuticle and surrounding nail area, as the nail polish remover may cause damage to your skin by dissolving the tissue fat.
  2. If you have prior experience in using cuticle nippers, you can gently remove the fake nails piece by piece by using the instrument. But don’t try this method on your own without knowing the proper method of using nippers. You can take the help of your manicurist for removing the silk wraps. By doing the process on your own, you will end up causing extensive damage to the beds of your nail. Remove the length of the nails, just like you are cutting your original finger nails short. Start the process with edges of the nail and slide the nippers gently under a loose spot near the edge. Continue the cutting process piece by piece, and stop cutting immediately when it hurts.
