However before doing the act of transferring the music files to your PSP, you must make sure that you have a computer and MP3 music files at your disposal. However if you do not have music files stored in your computer then shop online to purchase such music and remember to save them in your computer. Make sure that while you are saving such files, you are aware of the location of the music files in your computer.
- Use a USB cable to connect the computer to the PSP. Although almost every USB cable can do the trick of connecting the computer with the PSP, using a high speed USB cable can fasten the process. The next step involves locating the PSP on/through your computer. For doing this, go to “my computer” and navigate through a list of available drives. Here you shall find your PSP listed. Although it may not be listed by name, but still that particular drive which is not normally listed must be your PSP. After locating the drive, just double click on it and open it. - For putting music onto your PSP device, you must create a folder that holds the selected music. You can also do this from “my computer”. Just right click from within the “my computer” window (that displays the contents of the PSP), and select “new folder”. You can name this folder as “music”. Make sure that you are leaving this window open before moving on to the next step.
- You can see the “my computer” open in a window on your desktop. Do not close this window but open another “my computer” window. This can be done by clicking on “my computer” on the START menu.
- After opening that new “my computer” window, locate the music that you desire to get transferred onto your PSP device. You can either choose a single song, a group of songs or a whole folder of songs. Make sure that the music is stored in the C drive of your computer. Now navigate to the file.
- After having reached the music of your choice, you shall just have to click and drag the selected file(s) to the music folder that you had earlier created in your PSP. Allow the file(s) to get transferred. The transfer time will depend on the file size and USB cable capacity.
- Your favorite music has now got transferred to your PSP. Enjoy the music!
