When someone posts some details on your Facebook wall, its visibility depends on the privacy settings chosen to secure your wall. If the user has not selected any privacy options, the posted information can be seen by all the people part of his Facebook friends list. As of now, no option is available from the social network to display the posted information based on the approval of the user on whose wall the details are posted. However, a user can always remove a particular link, image, video or status posted on your Facebook wall. You can even block some of the apps and websites to post automated updates on your Facebook wall.

Removing an Unwanted Posting

  1. Log in to Facebook using your email address and password. Now you will be redirected to your Facebook home page and see the various postings appearing on the wall. Browse through the posts and choose the one you do not want to appear on your Facebook wall.
  2. You can see an X mark appearing at the top right corner of the post. When you hover the mouse over the link you can see the message remove. Click on the image.
  3. Now you can see a set of options. You can remove that particular post or all the posts posted by the particular user. There is also option to mark the post as spam. Click on an option based on your own choice.
  4. The post will be hidden and will no longer appear on your Facebook wall page.

Blocking Apps and Websites from Posting on Your Feed

  1. Log in to Facebook using your email address and password. Now you will be redirected to your Facebook home page and click on the Privacy Settings option appearing under the Accounts menu. You will be taken to the Choose Your Privacy Settings page.
  2. Scroll down to the end of the page and click on the Edit your settings link appearing under the head Apps and Websites. Click on the Edit Settings button appearing next to the label apps you use.
  3. Now you can see a detailed list of all apps allowed by you to post update messages on your Facebook wall. Click on the Edit Settings link appearing near the name of the specific app or website.
  4. You will be redirected to a page displaying the access permission granted by you, while initially accessing the app. The list will show a post to my wall label if the app is granted permission to post updates to the Facebook wall or feed. Click on the remove link appearing next to the label to disable the app to post updates on your Facebook wall.
  5. Alternately, you can directly click on the X link appearing next to the app name to remove and separate the app from your Facebook profile.
