How to Play UNO How to Play UNOUNO is a sort of a card game which you can play in groups. It is a fun game and involves lots real gaming passion and zeal. However, for a fair UNO cards game it is best that of you get familiar with the gaming rules in order to be a master UNO player. This is how the game is played.

  1. You are given a set of UNO cards. You hold the cards tight in hand and shuffle them well. You have to place seven cards face down before each player. Then it is time for you to keep the remaining of the card aside face down so that you can draw from the pile when required.
  2. Now you start playing the game. Draw the top most card from the pile which you have kept aside and in this way you can start creating a pile of discarded cards. The process will follow augmenting the size of the discarded pile.
  3. The person who is sitting left to you have to match any one of his cards with the discarded card drawn from the pile. He has to match either through numbers or through colors or he can also match through symbols. The discarded card has to be placed in a face up position.
  4. However, if the person sitting left cannot match with the discarded card from the pile then he has to draw another card. The game moves on if the drawn card can match with the card of the discarded pile.
  5. Now the next player gets the chance to play after a match has been made or a card has been drawn from the shuffled drawn pile. The game moves on in a counterclockwise direction where numbers, colors and symbols are accordingly matched with the cards drawn from the draw pile and then they are added to the discarded pile.
  6. If you are able to match your cards constantly and you have just one card in hand you have to call out UNO to make the other players realize that you are close to winning.
  7. You should start adding the values of the cards in the opponent’s hand in order to come up with the final score. Everyone holding cards should start counting as face value. You get twenty points for cards like Reverse, Draw Two and Skip and all Wild cards would carry fifty points.
  8. Once the first game is finished you can start with a new game and you can keep on playing till one achieves 500 points.
