Masking tape
Newspaper
Wheel paint ( duplicolor in both clear and color coat)
Degreaser
Primer
Sandpaper

A quick guide on how to paint the rims of your car is given below:

First of all, you shall have to sand the rims to give it a rough texture so that the paint does not have any problem to stick onto it.
Now you will have to get the wheels ready for the primer. Use a sandpaper of 120 to 320 grit outfitted on an electric sander and sand down as much as possible. After this, all the sanding dust needs to be cleared and then the smoothening process should begin using 600 grit sandpaper. Make sure that all this sanding process is done for making the surface clean enough so that the paint will stick properly and will not be flaky.
Before moving any further, you will have to wait till it is completely dry.
Take the masking tape and newspaper to tape off all the tires and its lips. This is done in order to prevent the paint from getting onto the tires while painting the rims. Or else, you can choose to remove the wheel completely from the tire so that it remains unaffected from the paint.
You shall have to put some newspapers under the rims in order to protect the surface underneath from getting spoilt by paint. You will also have to make sure that the working surface is flat and even enough.
Now take pieces of cardboard and place them around the edges and then move on to apply two coats of primer.
Allow the primer to dry completely and after that use a sandpaper to sand it lightly. You can use a rag to dust off after the sanding. Now you can apply the first coat of paint.
You have the choice of applying a clear coat while the paint is drying. This will bring out a shine in the color of the paint. However, be careful of not adding too many coats of clear coat or else it might chip the paint off its surface.
Leave the rims to dry off.
