Choose a color for the ceiling that would suit your wallpaper, furniture and the rest of the décor of your house. Choose a color that you like yet wouldn’t suit the house is not going to be impressive so think well before you want to buy the color. You can try some samples before you buy the stock. For example, if you have light blue walls and simple wood furniture, a white ceiling is good. If you have a feminine pink room, you can try a lighter shade of the color to make it appealing. Remember the ceiling would look good with lighter shapes and a dark shade can make the room look dark and poorly lighted. But if you wish to use some fancy lights, then you can go for a dark ceiling as well.
To save yourself from the dripping, you can wear some old working clothes as well as fix a cap on your head to keep your hair safe. If you want you can also wear simple glasses to prevent your eyes getting any pain on them.
Covering your furniture with plastic covering is a good idea and you can also use old newspaper for the floor, it would save the flooring from getting any pain on it. similarly, you can cover the wall with old news paper securing those with tapes so that it remains clean when you get drippings.
Get the material you are going to need to paint. Get the pain of your choice; get some masking tape, plastic to cover furniture, old news paper to cover the floor, paint sprayer or roller as per your choice and liking. To get sufficient paint, you must measure the ceiling and buy paint that would suffice for the whole of it.
Clean the ceiling before you paint. Scrub it and keep it ready for the fresh paint.
If you are comfortable with the roller use it but get ready for more dripping with the roller. The paint sprayer is good to save you some time and not make much mess. The roller however gives a much richer look.
Make the first coat and let it dry. Once it is dry apply the second coat and make it even and rich.
