And you find yourself at a dead-end with the ceiling.
Even the best professional painter finds it tough to do the ceilings. It is messy, hurts your back, legs and arms. And then you feel like quitting it half a way through. But that is not a solution, you need to be more patient and learn a trick or two to do this task with ease.
It may sound wonderful to have your ceiling painted with a color of your choice but you must mentally prepare yourself for the difficult task you are going to start. You must know that painting a ceiling is a messy task and you may tend to drip paint more than once when you do it. Don’t think you are the only one, who has drippings, this happens with even the best painter in town. You can try covering the furniture and other items that you have placed in the room before you start painting the ceiling.
You must take time to choose the color you want to pain your ceiling with. If you think plain white suits your mood, then you are not wrong. Painting in white has is own advantage like, white reflects light and makes the room glowing. Giving a limitless vista, the flat white color is a favorite with maximum people. You would need to get certain things before you get on the painting task. Collect some masking tape, paint rollers and plastic sheet and also a paint sprayer if you want to use it for painting. Also, you must measure the ceiling before you buy the paint.
So, now you are ready to paint your ceilings. Here is a list of few tips that would guide your through your task of painting the ceiling.
- Cover or remove the furniture in the room you would be working. Use the plastic sheet to cover the floor completely.
- You would need to cover the wall also. Put plastic sheets on the upper wall up to 3 feet and secure it with the tape.
- Clean the floor to remove as much of dust as possible.
- You can use a roller or a sprayer as per your choice. Both ways have their advantages and disadvantages. While roller gives a tidier finish, the sprayer takes less time and gives more coverage but can affect your walls if not covered fully.
- You can apply up to two coats to get that smooth finish.
- For keeping yourself from getting drips on your clothes, you can wear a mask and cover yourself properly.
