How to Make Your Hair Straight
Everyone likes to have beautiful hair because it adds up to the personality. But if you have thick rough or curly hair then definitely you find it difficult to maintain it and to experiment with different hair styles. Using blow dryers make the case worse. Though there were not many solutions earlier, but today there are various methods that can help you to achieve straight and silky hair.
Even as there are numerous beauty parlors and hair saloons where you can get your hair straightened, it is an expensive choice. So, if you really want a reasonably-priced solution for your frizzy and unmanageable hair, then all you need to do is invest some effort, time and hair products. You are sure to achieve desired results, sitting at home.
Following are the methods that can help you to make your hair straight and silky.
Steps
- Wash your hair and apply good quality moisturizing conditioner for better results. Now towel-dry your hair till it is damp. Apply anti-frizz serum/cream; these products are easily available in the market. Ensure that you apply it judiciously; you should not overuse it because that will make your hair look greasy. Work the cream through the hair thoroughly with your fingers. It should be done in such away that it gets evenly distributed from root to the tips of the hair.
- Now with the help of round-barrel hair brush, try to straighten your strands. You can brush through few sections of your hair, pulling it away from head and drying with the hair dryer.
- Keep the nozzle of the blower down, so that the air flows down the hair shaft and seals it, thus making it straight. It is always recommended to make use of warm or hot air because cold air fails to bring the required effect. Now you can spray a heat protector over your hair. Be sure it is evenly distributed and you do not over spray your hair.
- Divide your hair into sections and make loosely tied loops of each section. Now keep a flat iron on medium setting and start running it from the root of the section to the length of it. You can keep running a comb simultaneously through the sections to help flatten any remaining raised cuticles .Avoid going too fast or slow. 3 seconds is sufficient for shoulder-length hair. Continue the process till every section has been done.
- To achieve fine finished look, use a light, mist hair spray. This will help setting the strands perfectly straight. Be careful to use the spray lightly, using otherwise can saturate your hair strands, making it look sticky and dull.
Tips
- It is very important to understand the texture of your hair and how it responds to various products and heat. This will help you to go for right type of straightening process.
- At times when you make a bun of damp hair and sleep, it can actually help decreasing the time spent on hair straightening.
