How to Make Spaghetti and Cheese
Some recipes can be very easy to make and have very few and easily available ingredients, but you will love to have them time and again. Spaghetti with cheese is quite easy to make but you will never tire of making it both for its taste and nutrition value. There can be many variations of the main recipe too and it will please you to think of a new recipe everyday to surprise your family. It is one of the best recipes to prepare on a cold and chilly day when you want something tasty and hot but don’t want to spend too much time in the kitchen making it.
Let us try to make spaghetti with cheese in the very simple way first and then add some other ingredients to make it special. But this great Italian dish can be best enjoyed when you use the best quality spaghetti and cheese. The other spices should also be freshly ground to have the best flavour and taste.
Ingredients
200 dried spaghetti
¼ cup olive oil
2 tbsp butter
½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 ½ tsp ground black pepper
Salt to taste
Procedure:
- Take a large pan and heat some water in it. Put some salt in the water and when it starts boiling, put the spaghetti in. Cook only for a few minutes till it is just soft enough for use. Don’t overcook as it will not give you the desired look or taste.
- Drain the water away from the spaghetti but store this water for future use. You will need about 1 ½ cups of this water.
- Now that the pan is ready for use again, clean it well and put it on high heat. Add the oil to the pan but take care that it does not get over heated.
- When the olive oil is quite hot, put the drained spaghetti in along with the cooking water. Be careful when you do this as there can be splashing in the pan and you might get burnt in the process. Just put the ingredients in and jump back quickly.
- Keep the pan on high heat till the water is almost evaporated. Add the grated cheese, salt and black pepper and mix well. Take a wooden spoon and carefully turn the ingredients around in the pan. You can see a sauce forming in the pan because of the cheese, water and oil.
- Your recipe is almost done. Before serving, add the rest of the grated cheese on top and sprinkle with freshly ground black pepper. You can savor the yummy taste now.
Another Variation
Ingredients
1 lb ground beef
¼ of an onion, chopped
Spaghetti sauce
7 oz of spaghetti
2 tbsp butter
1 cup grated Cheddar cheese
1 tbsp flour
2 tbsp Parmesan cheese
¼ tsp salt
¾ cup milk
1/3 cup water
Procedure:
- Take some oil in a pan and sauté the onions. Add ground beef to the pan and sauté till brown. Pour in the spaghetti sauce in the small jar. Cook over a slow flame for some time.
- Take water in another pan and add some salt. Cook the spaghetti in it till it is just tender. Rinse and then add the spaghetti sauce to it.
- Take some butter in the pan and put some flour in it. Sprinkle some salt and stir till you get a fine paste. Add the milk and water. Make sure that you put the pan on medium heat till the mixture in the pan thickens. Keep stirring so that the ingredients do not stick to the bottom of the pan.
- Add the grated Cheddar cheese and Parmesan cheese and keep stirring till they have melted nicely.
- Take a baking dish and pour the spaghetti on it. Pour the sauce on top and then top with another layer of spaghetti. Put the cheese on it. Bake in an oven at 350 degrees for about 15 minutes.
