How to Make Scones
Scones are a loved breakfast dish for people all over the world. Children as well as adults relish it with great desire. However here we are going to discuss about preparing scones with some variations in them.
First we shall know more about making delicious dried fruit scones. Dried fruit scones are a variation of cream scones wherein one can experiment with a variety of fruits at hand. Since dried fruit scones do not have butter in them, they are a bit dry in nature and taste best with tea or coffee. So let us start preparing this delicious but simple breakfast by following the step by step guide given below:
- Take some dried fruits and cut them into ½ inch pieces. After cutting them nicely, allow it to soak in the cream properly.
- While the dried fruits are soaking in the cream, you can heat the oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Take all of the dry ingredients which are required for making scones and sift them together. After sifting them properly, make a sort of a well in the center and then stir in the cream and the fruits.
- Now you shall have to stir the dough nicely till all its ingredients have got combined well and make sure that you are not over mixing the dough.
- Take this dough and spread it evenly on a round disk. Flatten it evenly to about ¾ inch thickness. After flattening it, you have to cut out its pieces just like you do in a pizza. Cut out exactly 16 triangles from the dough.
- Use a baking sheet and line it with parchment or else use a nonstick baking sheet and place the triangles on the sheet. Do not forget to brush some cream on the top of each of the triangle pieces.
- Also take some coarse sugar and sprinkle some of it on each of the pieces of triangles. Now let the pieces bake for about 20 minutes until they have turned a golden brown.
- Remove them from the oven and serve the scones when they are still hot!

- Preheat your oven to about 425 degrees Fahrenheit.
- While making chocolate chunk scones, it is recommended that you use block semisweet chocolate. Take the block of chocolate and cut it into pieces of ½ inches each. As far as feasible, try and keep each of the pieces of chocolate same in size and shape while cutting the block.
- Take a large bowl and sift in it all the dry ingredients which are required for making basic and simple scones.

- Take the dough and flatten it on a round dish. Spread the dough evenly onto the dish to about ¾ inch of thickness. Now cut out its pieces just like you do in a pizza. Remember to cut out 16 pizza like triangles from the dough.
- Take these pieces and place them on a parchment lined or on a non stick baking sheet. Do not forget to sprinkle some coarse sugar and to brush some cream over the top of the triangles just before you bake them.
- Now bake the triangles for about 20 minutes until they are golden brown. Serve your mouth watering and delicious chocolate chunk scones while they are warm!
