How to Make Pot Butter
Marijuana or cannabis has proven medicinal value and one need not smoke to get the tetrahydrocannabinol or more commonly known as THC. While smoking marijuana has negative effects on the human body, if taken mildly, the THC in Marijuana can have positive effects like stimulation of hunger and work against nausea or vomiting. One of the most commonly used methods to consume this herb is through making pot butter. This type of pot butter can be used in various regular dishes without affecting the taste. You can add the pot butter in confectionaries like brownies, ginger breads, cakes or pastries as per your desire. But make sure you put the prescribed amount and not more than that while making the pot butter.
Kitchenware you would require to make pot butter.
- One large and one average sized pots. Or a double boiler.
- Spoon to stir
- Muslin or cheese cloth to filter the butter and the weed
- Bowl or fridge container to store butter
- Small Grinder to grind marijuana weed
Ingredients you would need:
- 1/4 ounce marijuana
- 1 cup of butter
Steps to make pot butter:
- You would need to grind the marijuana and keep aside.
- Fill about half the capacity of the large pot and let it come to a boil.
- Place the small pot on top of the large pot or top boiler.
- Put the butter in it
- Let it melt and add marijuana and let is shimmer
- Let it shimmer about half an hour or more if you want higher potency.
- Strain it with the muslin
- Let it settle down in a bowl for half an hour
- Once it become cold, place it in the refrigerator and let it form into regular butter.
Your pot butter is not ready to be consumed. But before you start using it in your regular food stuff, it is wise to learn about use. Though there is no proven method with which you can probably calculate the exact amount you can consume, you can start with a minimum amount. Usually the lowest quality of marijuana is used for making pot butter, the reason being, the impact of the herb would be less severe and would not have any adverse effect on the consumer.
Once you store the pot butter in the refrigerator, you can use it for a longer time. You can use it on muffins, pan cakes etc. and consume without having to worry about the taste. Though the color of pot butter can be anywhere between light brown to green, it tastes like regular butter and doesn’t add any flavor to the food but only of butter.
