Vodka
Distilled water
Perfume bottle
Coffee filter
Essential oils

After having gathered all the essential items, we can now proceed towards making the perfume by following the step by step guide given below:

1. The most important thing to do before starting to make any perfume is to choose its essential oils. A perfume is defined by its base, middle and top notes. You shall have to get them in the right combinations and amounts. Another important thing is the binder: oil that will bind all the other three oils together. Remember that the base note in any perfume is the strongest whereas the top note is the lightest. It is recommended that you use three separate oils as the base, middle and top notes along with the binder. Some examples of the essential oils are given below:

Binder: lavender and vanilla
Base: cinnamon, cedar, vanilla, sandalwood or patchouli
Middle: lemongrass, bottle nutmeg, clove, geranium, neroli or ylang-ylang.
Top: lemon, rose, lavender, jasmine, neroli, lime, bergamot or orchard.

2. You shall have to choose from the above mentioned essential oils. After having chosen the oils, take about 8 drops of base oil, 8 drops of the middle one and another 8 drops of the top note and add them to 2 ½ oz. of vodka. To this mixture, you shall have to add some drops of the binder oil. Now allow the mixture to settle down for at least 24hrs. This shall affect the strength of the perfume in terms of its fragrance.
3. Take about 2 tbsp of distilled water and add it to the mixture. One can also choose to add a few drops of glycerin to the mixture. Glycerin makes the fragrance of the perfume last longer. Mix all of them together and pour into a perfume bottle through a coffee filter. Your signature perfume is ready!
