How to Make Pastry
In this article we shall know about the making of toaster pastries and puff pastries.
First of all let us know about toaster pastries. Toaster pastries can make lovely breakfasts and you can prepare them much in advance. The things that are required for making toaster pastries are as follows:

- Toasters
- Piecrust dough
- Kitchen utility knives
The method of making toaster pastries is as given below in the step by step guide:
- You shall have to begin by making the pie dough. After making it, you have to roll out the dough in a ¼ inch thick oblong which has the measures of 10 by 12 inches.
- After doing so, you can sprinkle some sugar lightly on the dough and then fold it in half that makes a 5 by 12 inch rectangle.
- Use a kitchen knife to cut along folds so that you have two equal halves. Do not separate the halves yet. While they are still in position, you have to cut the dough into fourths thereby having eight 3 by 5 inch squares.
- Take hold of one square and spread on it some jelly or jam of your choice and then place another square on top of that. You can take the help of a fork to gently push the tines into edges and slide off the edge of the dough. You have to then prick the top of the pastry with fork for holes.
- Bake the pastry on a lightly greased cookie sheet till you notice that the edges are light brown. You can remove the pastry and wrap them in a plastic wrap after they cool and store them in a container. Keep this container in a freezer.
- Whenever you feel like eating them, you just have to pop them in a toaster or microwave.
We can now turn our attention towards making puff pastry. This recipe is a must in every person’s menu that specializes in baking items. The things that are required for making
this recipe are as mentioned below:
- ½ tsp salt
- 2 cups of all purpose flour
- 5/8 cup of cold water
- Oil
- 1 cup of sliced cold water
The process of making yummy puff pastries is as given in the step by step guide below:
- Take a mixing bowl and put in it flour and salt. Also add sliced butter into the bowl. You have to keep on mixing the ingredients till the butter has flour coated all over it.
- Now add water to the bowl and keep on mixing the contents of the bowl with the help of a wooden spoon. After doing so you have to place the dough on a surface which has been lightly floured. Start kneading the dough into a loose ball. You have to form the shape of the dough into rectangular. Now you have to roll it out flat and then fold it into thirds, turn the dough one quarter and fold the dough again so that you have created nine layers. Make sure that you repeat this step again.
- This dough has to be wrapped in plastic and kept in the fridge for about 20 minutes. After 20 minutes you need to remove the dough from the fridge and repeat step 3 two more times. After doing so you have to again rewrap the dough and place it in the fridge for 20 more minutes.
- Now you need to remove the pastry dough from the fridge and slice them up into pieces of equal sizes and then place them on an oiled cookie sheet.
- You have to bake them at about 425 degrees till you notice that they have become golden and puffy.
