How to Make Pasta Recipes How to Make Pasta RecipesItalian cuisine is a craze with many people and pasta seems to be a universal favorite. You can choose to buy pasta from the stores or you can even make your own pasta at home. This pasta can be utilized in several recipes to give you mouth watering results. Although there are scores of pasta recipes which you can make at home, let us consider two very easy ones.

Method I

  1. The list of ingredients for this recipe are 1 lb large pasta like shells, 1 ¾ cups ham cut in cubes, 1 ½ cups mozzarella cut in cubes, 1 cup fresh ground parmesan, 3 egg yolks and butter.
  2. You need to prepare a Béchamel sauce for which you need 24 oz milk, 5 tbsp unsalted butter, 2/3 cup flour, pinch of nutmeg and pinch of salt.
  3. After getting all the ingredients together, prepare the Béchamel sauce. Warm the milk in one saucepan and melt the butter in another. Keep adding flour to the butter and mix it on slow heat. Use a wooden spoon for better results.
  4. When the flour forms a uniform batter with the butter, add the warm milk little at a time while stirring continuously. Make sure that there are no lumps.
  5. Then you can grate a little nutmeg on top and also add the salt. Keep cooking with stirring until you get a smooth mixture.
  6. Now that you have got the Béchamel sauce ready, you can let it cool down to room temperature.
  7. Then it is the turn of the pasta to get cooked. Put the pasta in water and cook it until it is just right. Take care to see that it does not get too soft.
  8. While the pasta is getting ready, add the ham, mozzarella, parmesan and egg yolks to the Béchamel sauce. Drain the pasta from the water and add to the sauce too.
  9. Put everything in the baking dish and put a layer of butter on top with some parmesan. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F and bake for about half an hour till it starts to get brown.

Method II

  1. The ingredients for this recipe are 1 lb pasta shells, 1 large onion, 2 6oz cans of tuna fish and 5 tbsp of extra virgin olive oil.
  2. Cut the onion into thin slices. Take a skillet and warm 3 tbsp of olive oil in it.
  3. Cook the onions on the skillet until all the onion pieces are covered with oil. Cook on medium heat till soft. Add some water if necessary.
  4. Take the tuna out from the cans and add them to the skillet. Add the remaining oil and mix well. Keep cooking for 5 minutes.
  5. In another pan, add pasta to water and cook till it is just ready. Drain the pasta from the water and add to the tuna and onions in the skillet. Your dish is ready to serve.
