How to Make Origami Roses

Roses – a symbol of love, beauty and honour. A rose never fails to impress. We only wish that the roses would last a bit longer to give us more pleasure and its beauty. While nothing can replace the real natural rose, we can try our hands on the artificial ones that look as pretty and make fill the heart with mush. Here’s how to make origami roses and share them with your loved ones.

What do you need?

Origami material – choose the colour you like and buy it according to the number of roses you want to make
A few yards of metallic wire coated with rubber or plastic.
Green origami material
A pair of scissors
Strings
Glue
Paint
A birthday candle
Some cotton
Transparent string

How to make the origami roses

First layout the pair, straighten it. Now fold it. Make several folds.
Now with the scissors start cutting the origami material into enlogated hexagonal shapes. You can even cut shorter hexagonal shapes.
Cut eight to ten petals per rose.
Now curve the upper ends outwards. You can paint very little glue to maintain the curve.
Once you are done curving all ten petals, keep them away.
Now take a length of the wire, mark it from your finger tip to a little above your elbow. Cut it. Apply glue over the wire and wrap it with the green coloured origami material. Start wrapping the material from top and keep going to the bottom.
Once you finish draping the wire, take some cotton and cover it with the coloured origami material in a ear bud like shape. Tie a string at the end.
Now turn one end of the draped wire downwards and place the bud. Now tie a transparent string around it to keep it in place.
Now start taking each petal and tie it around the bud first close and then go on moving out wards. Once you have finished tying them all, check the placement properly to make sure your rose petals are in place.
Now light the candle and drop the melted wax drops over the rose to make it appear like dew drops. Do not over do it. Use it sparingly.

Now you can use different coloured origami material and make your own roses that will last longer and fill your heart with love.
