When you make olive oil dip for bread, you can experiment with different recipes and ingredients. You can even enhance the flavor of the dip by using spices and herbs of your personal choice.

Recipe I

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup of extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon of sea salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon of course grind black pepper (or freshly ground)
  • 3 cloves garlic, smashed and coarsely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon of Italian seasoning
  • 1/4 teaspoon of red pepper flakes

Instructions

  1. Add the extra-virgin olive oil, sea salt, course grind black pepper, chopped garlic, red pepper flakes, and the Italian seasoning to a medium sized bowl. Combine all these ingredients and prepare a fine mixture.
  2. Set the bowl aside and allow the mixture to set. You can achieve a more intense flavor by allowing the mixture to set for a longer period. Some people even prefer to prepare the olive oil dip in much advance and store it inside the refrigerator. However, the dip needs to be removed from the refrigerator and kept outside to come to the room temperature.
  3. Once the dip comes to the room temperature, you can serve these to your guests along with some nice crusty and Italian type bread. You can even drizzle the dip over pizza and spaghetti.

Recipe II

Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon of crushed red pepper
  • 1 teaspoon of ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon of dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon of dried rosemary
  • 1 teaspoon of dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon of parsley flakes
  • 1 teaspoon of granulated garlic
  • 1 teaspoon of minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon of kosher salt
  • 1/2 cup of extra virgin olive oil

Instructions

  1. Bring a plate or shallow bowl and add the crushed red pepper, ground black pepper, dried oregano, basil and rosemary, parsley flakes, granulated garlic, minced garlic, and kosher salt. Combine all these ingredients well and form a nice mixture.
  2. Pour the extra virgin olive oil over the plate and use a spoon to form a smooth mixture. Allow some time for the olive oil dip to sit before serving your guests.

Recipe III

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup of olive oil
  • 5 cloves garlic
  • 2 tablespoons of balsamic vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons of Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon of crushed dried oregano
  • fresh ground black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Pour the olive oil onto a salad plate. Place the five garlic cloves at different spots on the plate. Press these garlic cloves by using garlic press.
  2. Add the balsamic vinegar to the plate by drizzling over the garlic and olive oil.
  3. Sprinkle the dip with Parmesan cheese and crushed dried oregano.
  4. Season the olive oil dip with fresh ground black pepper and entertain your guests with French bread. You can even use the dip as a good salad dressing.
