How to Make Noodles How to Make NoodlesWho doesn’t love noodles? There are varieties of ways in which you can make and use noodles in various recipes. There are egg noodles, pasta noodles, noodles in sauce, noodles in soup, rice noodles, fried noodles and scores of other types which can really make your mouth water. The best part of the noodles is that they are very easily available and you can cook up many recipes in just a few minutes. They are best to give to your famished children when they attack you for some snacks after a hectic play session. Although noodles can be obtained from the nearest grocery store, yet there is a special pleasure in making them yourself at home. Besides, it does save you a few dollars too.

  1. There is not much that you need to make the initial dough other than flour, salt and warm water. There are other things that you can mix in the dough too but let us learn the basic type of noodles first and then it will be easy to add other ingredients to enhance the taste in your next batch of noodles.
  2. Mix a few cups of flour with salt to taste. Keep adding a little of this mixture to the warm water with stirring. Go on adding the flour and salt mixture and stirring until you find that it does not stick to the sides of the container.
  3. Take small portions from this dough. Flatten one of these pieces and roll it out after sprinkling some flour on the working surface. The piece should be flat like that of a pie crust.
  4. Once you have rolled out into the required thickness, use a knife to cut into thin strips like you see in the market. Roll out the rest of the pieces of the dough and you will soon get a good amount of noodles.
  5. If you want, you can cook these noodles at once by putting it into boiling water. It will get cooked in a minute or so. Then take it out from the water and serve.
  6. While cutting the strips, you can shape it in nay way you want. This will give you different varieties of Chinese and Italian preparations.
  7. For a variation in the taste, you can add two eggs to the flour while making the dough. Else, you can add sugar or some spices too.
  8. The flour can also vary and you can make noodles out of rice flour or wheat flour as you please.
  9. You can make the dough soft or hard depending on your taste, but softer dough will produce noodles which will cook very easily and can cling to each other.
  10. You need not prepare the noodles at once. Storing the dough in the refrigerator is also a good idea. Whenever you want to have noodles, you can take out the requisite amount and make your dish.

Your noodles may not come out perfect in the first try. But if you do it several times, then you are bound to become an expert. Now you are ready to eat the noodles as such or use a great recipe to prepare a delicious dish from it.
