How to Make Muffins
Many of us know the process of making the usual muffins which include eggs in them. But there are many who do not like the taste of eggs generally and so dislike any dish which has eggs in them. And muffins are one such preparation which has at least one egg in it. However there is a solution to this problem. Muffins can be cooked without the inclusion of eggs and the taste is no different! So without any compromise with the taste of muffins, let us know more about the making of muffins sans eggs. The ingredients
required for the purpose of making egg less muffins are as follows:
- Cooking spray
- 2 muffin pans
- ¾ cup of apple sauce
- 1 cup of mashed banana
- ½ cup of milk
- 1 tsp of vanilla extract
- ¾ cup white granulated sugar
- 2 cups of all purpose flour
- ½ tsp of baking soda
- 1 tsp baking powder
- ¼ tsp of salt
- Toothpicks
The process of making muffins without including eggs in them can be made simpler and easier by following the step by step given below:
- You have to begin by preheating the oven to about 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Use the cooking spray to coat the muffin pans. Instead of using the cooking spray you can also use butter as an alternative to coat the muffin pans. There is also another way of making the muffins by using paper cupcakes and placing them in the muffin pans.
- Take a banana and peel it. Place it on a plate and start mashing it with the help of a fork until you have got around 1 cup of mashed banana. Here it is recommended that you use a ripe banana instead of a green one. A ripe banana gets mashed
properly. - Take out the mashed banana onto a bowl and add in it apple sauce, milk and vanilla extract. Stir all the ingredients of the bowl properly so that they get mixed well. You can also blend the banana, apple sauce and milk in a blender/electric mixer to get a smoother mixture. This helps in the blending more nicely than by a spoon.
- Take another bowl and mix in it flour, baking soda, salt and baking powder and combine them nicely. Now you have to very slowly add this dry mixture of flour to the apple sauce and banana mixture. Keep on stirring the ingredients properly while adding the flour mixture to the flour till you have got a nice and thick batter. Incase you notice that the muffin batter has become too thick then add a bit of milk to the mixture. This will help in thinning the batter a bit.
- Take the batter and place it onto the coated muffin pans. You can use a spoon to dish out the batter to the pans. Place these muffin pans in the oven and allow them to bake for about 20 minutes. You can use a toothpick to check the texture of the muffins. If you find uncooked batter sticking onto the toothpick then they haven’t cooked well.
- After the muffins have cooked nicely then take out the muffins from the oven and allow them to cool off for sometime before serving.
