With people preferring low fat recipes to keep in shape, you can also skim the fat off the soup after making it so that it stays delicious and is yet good for the body. Soups are loved by all, especially when they are homemade. There are many recipes you can try out at home but the ones listed below are very easy to make and are enjoyed by kids and adults alike. So let us learn how to make homemade soup the easy way.

Using Beef as the Main Ingredient:

  • Along with 1 pound cubed beef, you need 2 cubes of beef bullion, 2 cans of mixed vegetables, 3 quarts of water, 8 ounces of either pasta or macaroni, a sprinkling of Italian herb mix, olive oil and salt and pepper to taste.
  • Take a frying pan and sauté the cubed beef in it till brown. You can use some olive oil to do this. It will only take a few minutes for the beef to turn brown. Once you notice the browning, don’t sauté more but add the other beef, water, vegetables, pasta and herbs to it. Transfer to a soup pot for the contents to boil and be cooked.
  • Once the soup starts boiling, turn down the flame and simmer for a while. You have to keep testing the pasta to see if it is tender. Stir the soup so that the base of the pot does not get scorched. But cook just till the beef is cooked and the pasta are tender. If you cook for more time, the pasta will disintegrate and make the soup unpalatable.

You can now serve the soup hot. Everyone is bound to like it and ask you for more helpings.

Using Chicken as the Main Ingredient:

  • This time you need 1 pound cubed chicken breast, along with 2 cubes of chicken bullion, 3 quarts of water, 8 ounces of dried pasta or macaroni, 2 cans of mixed vegetables. Instead of Italian herb mix, you can use fresh rosemary. Olive oil will be needed for sautéing and salt and pepper to taste.
  • Pour a little olive oil into a frying pan and put in the cubed chicken. Sauté until you can no longer see the pink color of the chicken pieces. You can check the chicken to see if it is done by piercing with a fork. If it is done, then you can cut each cube in half.
  • Add the rest of the ingredients to the pan and mix. Transfer to a soup pot and allow boiling. When the contents of the pot start boiling, you can turn down the heat to moderate flame and cook till the pasta is tender. Keep stirring the pot so that the ingredients do not stick to the bottom. Again, do not overcook.

The soup is now ready to be tasted by your family. All of you can sit down together and enjoy a wonderful meal. If you wish, you can serve some crusty bread or some sandwiches which will make the meal even more tasty and nutritious.
