How to Make Homemade Potato Wedges
Potato wedges or jojos are large and often peeled wedges of potatoes either fried or baked. Potato wedges are similar to French fries but are comparatively larger in size. Normally these wedges are seasoned with salt, pepper and spices before cooking to get a skin with crispy flavor. This popular snack food is normally served with sweet chili sauce, brown sauce, ketchup or sour cream. There are some pubs, bars and restaurants which serve potato wedges as a side dish. So this popular dish can serve the purpose of a snack food as well as can be served as a side dish. The delicious wedges can be made at your home within a few minutes by some simple ingredients available in your kitchen.
Recipe I
Ingredients
- 3 to 4 large potatoes
- seasoned salt
- olive oil
- a baking sheet
- oven
Instructions
- Get your 3 or 4 big potatoes and wash them under running water.
- After washing, cut the potatoes half lengthwise. After cutting the potatoes slice them in the same half lengthwise manner.
- After the potatoes are sliced lay them flat and slice the potatoes lengthwise into the shape of wedges
- Now get your baking sheet and lightly get it coated with olive oil.
- Place the sliced raw potatoes wedges in the baking sheet and sprinkle them with olive oil lightly
- After olive oil, sprinkle the raw potatoe wedges with seasoned salt generously. Ensure that you sprinkle the seasoned salt on both sides of the wedges.
- Now bake the potato wedges by placing the baking sheet in the oven. Set the oven at 400 degrees for half an hour or till the potato wedges are colored golden brown.
- While baking flip the potato wedges over halfway through the baking time. This flaking will ensure that you get the crispy and golden potato wedges.

- vegetable oil
- seasoning salt
- pepper
- 2 eggs
- 2 cups of flour or just enough flour to cover front and back of raw potato
Instructions
- Get your 3 or 4 big potatoes and wash them under running water.
- After washing, cut the potatoes half lengthwise. After cutting the potatoes slice them in the same half lengthwise manner.
- After the potatoes are sliced lay them flat and slice the potatoes lengthwise into the shape of wedges
- Put enough amounts of flour to cover both front and back of the potato wedges in a grocery bag..
- Sprinkle the seasoning salt and pepper on potato wedges.
- Crack the two eggs and beat them in a bowl which is big enough to dip potatoes.
- Now dip the seasoned potato wedges into the beaten egg and then put the potato wedges inside the grocery bag containing the flour.
- Put two cups or more vegetable oil on a pan and let it get hot till boiling. Turn the stove to medium heat once the oil starts boiling.
- Shake to grocery bag till the raw potato wedges are covered with flour on both sides.
- Now put the potato wedges in the hot vegetable oil to get it fried. Keep it frying till becomes crispy. While frying you can check the frying condition of the potato wedges by pulling out a single piece and putting it on a paper towel.
