Ingredients:

3-4 ripe avocados
1-2 minced garlic cloves
ΒΌ cup lemon juice
2 tbsp minced chives
1 small tomato (cubed)
Salt
Salsa
Tortilla chips

Instructions:

  • Bring the avocados and cut them into two pieces each. Make sure that the avocados are ripe and give way a little when you squeeze them. They must be dark green in color. After cutting them into two, you have to scoop the flesh out from the fruit. Leave the skins behind.
  • Once you have the flesh of the avocados out in a container, you can mash them with a fork until you get a smooth paste. You may not be able to get it right on the first try. But if you make this dish many times, then you will become an expert in this job. For the beginner, leaving some chunks behind is perfectly alright and acceptable. If you have many avocados with you, then you can also use a food processor to make a smooth paste.
  • Now add the minced fresh garlic, and the fresh lemon juice. You can also add the tomato and the chives now. Mix all of them to make a smooth paste again. When you have no chunks left in the mixture, you can add the salt and the salsa. This should be put according to your taste.
  • Your guacamole is now ready to serve along with some tortilla chips.

Tips:

  1. Instead of searching for fresh and ripe avocados in the market, you can buy avocados a week before you prepare this dish and wait for them to ripen at home.
  2. For mashing up the avocados, you can also use the potato masher.
  3. To make the recipe still tastier, you can add some chopped cilantro, jalapeno chilies and fresh garlic.
  4. Serve the guacamole with cold beer or margaritas and you can be sure to get great compliments.
