How to Make Fried Cheese
Cheese can be purchased from the market in different flavors and colors. You can eat raw cheese as well as make a delicious dish by getting the cheese fried. While making fried cheese you can select any variety sliceable cheese which melts well like mozzarella, munster cheese, or cheddar. However, the most preferred and popular variety of cheese for making this dish is Brie cheese. If you want you can prepare these cheese cubes in advance but you have to fry the cheese just before serving the appetizer. This recipe always tastes best when it is served hot and fresh off the fire. You also need some simple sauces to serve with the fried cheese which you can prepare in advance and use while serving the hot fried cheese. You also need bread crumbs to use in the dish which you can easily make at home by using your breads which have become slightly stale. So with these easily available ingredients you can easily prepare the fried cheese and serve your guests within few minutes.
Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons of flour
- 1/2 cup full dried bread crumbs
- 1 egg
- 1/2 pound of Brie cheese
- oil required for frying
Instructions
1. Put the flour and bread crumb on two separate plates.
2. Bring a shallow bowl and whisk the egg using a fork and add 1 tablespoon of water.
3. Slice the Brie cheese into about 24 pieces each with a bite-size.
4. Dredge the cubes in flour and shake of any excess flour covering the cubes.
5. Dip the cubes in egg by turning it properly to coat these from all sides.
6. Coat the cubes by turning them well on the plate of bread crumbs.
7. Now put these cubes in refrigerator for cooling.
8. Just before the serving time, you can bring these cheese cubes from your refrigerator and get these fried. For frying, heat about 1/8 inch of oil in a sturdy skillet by putting it on medium high heat. When the oil is hot add these cubes to the hot oil.
9. Frequently turn the cubes gently in the oil till each side turns brown. The frying process is very less time consuming and will take only about two minutes. But ensure that these cheese cubes are not over-fried as the cheese will ooze out of the cubes due to over-frying.
10. Now drain the cubes on paper towel and serve immediately with the sauce. There will be about 24 pieces of appetizer bites.

You can use the first variety of dipping sauce by using 2 tablespoons of red currant jelly and 1/2 tablespoon of basalmic vinegar. The second variety of dipping sauce can be made by using 1 tablespoon of French style mustard, 1 tablespoon of honey, and 1 teaspoon of Champagne or white wine vinegar.
