  3. Now let’s prepare the skin or covering for the dumplings. For this, take a big bowl with flour in it. Gradually add water to the flour and knead it by hand to prepare soft dough. Cover it with towel and put it aside for sometime.
  4. Scatter some dry flour on the board and roll the dough into a long baton-like roll on the board. Now cut the roll into small pieces. You can even use a rolling pin to roll each piece into a thin circle. Slightly press each piece with hand to get a pancake shape.
  5. Now hold the pancake with your hand and place the filling ingredients in the centre of the dough circle. Carefully fold the circle in half and then moisten the edges with water. You can use both index finger and thumb to bring the sides of the dough circle together. Properly seal the edge of the dumpling. Pinch the pleats together and then pinch to seal.
  6. The next step is simple. All you need to do is to place the dumplings into boiling water and allow it to cook. Make sure to gently stir the dumplings to prevent them from sticking together. After bringing to a boil; turn the heat to low and cook for another three minutes.
  7. Now your dumplings are ready to be served. When serving, use vinegar, soy sauce, hot bean paste, etc. as dipping sauces. These sauces will enhance the flavor of your dumplings.
