It is a wonderful art piece which appears all the more majestic. Clay artists have been inspired for long to give shape to the horse and they have discovered innovative ways to make the horse look all the more artistic and colorful. You can well craft the clay horse sitting at the comfort of your house and have a nice time with the art.

Take a large clay egg in hand. The size of the clay should be enough to craft the body of the horse well. Handle the larger ends to form the hindquarters. This is surely going to make the horse perfect from the beginning. You must have your shapes and measurements right from the start.
You have to make four logs with the clay. The logs should be equal to the length of the body. This is for the legs of the horse. They must be made in a way so that all of them look the same. The measurement should be equal in all cases.
Now make a thick log with the clay. This is for the neck of the horse. The log should be short about one forth size of the body. Shape the logs narrow at the end. This will give the horse a pleasing neck to look at.
Take another small clay egg. This is to be shorter then the amount which you have taken for the neck of the horse. The diameter of the egg should be three fourth the amount of clay which you have taken to make the head of the horse. Again, it is important that you narrow the ends so that you can make them fit well on the structure.
Take a sheet of clay equal to the length of the neck. You must make it thick. Then it is time for you to cut a jagged line from this sheet from one particular end and this will help you form a sheet similar in width to the neck. Just make sure to keep the piece aside. This is for the mane for the horse.
Now take in hand the rest of the thin rolled clay and try to form a triangle out of this. This you must start making from the bottom point which should be three fourth of the height of the horse. The width should be same from one side to the other. This will help in making the tail of the horse.
Take the head and put it over the neck. Press it a bit hard so that it sticks well over the head. Again take the neck along with the head of the horse and fix things right over the slightly front portion of the body. All the parts should be pinched well for proper fixing.
Now add the legs, the tail and the mane of the horse one after the other. All should be placed in a position so that they look absolutely perfect and well suited. The fixing has to be done in the right way and at the right place to make the item look proper.
Now make two pyramid shapes out of the clay to form the ears of the horse.
Now it is time for you to bake the horse at 275 degrees Fahrenheit and see that it is hard and erect. The baking must be done in the proper way or else the horse won’t stand fine.
Take the black paint to make the eyes and the hooves of the horse.

Now the horse looks complete. Everything should be done in a way to give a dramatic effect to the structure.
