So, if it is baking time for you during Christmas then get your best apron on and try to sharpen your culinary skills, you are bound to receive the best mom’s cap from your young ones. Making chocolate cookies may sound very easy but don’t go by the so-called simplicity of it, you may end up baking cookies that need hammers to break them. So, be careful with your baking. And if you are trying your hands at chocolate cookies, then here is some help for you.

Here is a list of things you need to have before making chocolate cookies.

  • 1 medium and 1 large sized bowl.
  • A fork to mix or wooden spoon
  • Cookie sheet
  • 1 Spatula
  • Wax paper

  • Three cups of semisweet chocolate
  • One and half cups of brown sugar
  • Two tea spoons of Vanilla essence
  • Half cup of cocoa powder (preferably Dutch Process)
  • Two cups of flour
  • Two tea spoons of baking powder
  • 1 cup of butter
  • Two tea spoons of coffee granules
  • Four mid sized eggs
  • Half cup of white sugar
  • One tea spoon of Salt

With this you are all set to make chocolate cookies:

  • Melt the chocolate and make sure you don’t burn it else it would become bitter. You can keep stirring it to make it into a smooth paste.
  • You would need to mix baking powder, cocoa, flour and salt. Filter it once or twice with a regular filter. If you use the dry filter, it would make sure the different powders mix properly. Keep it ready to make the dough.
  • Mix cream butter and brown and white sugar together. Make a smooth paste and keep.
  • In another bowl beat the eggs one by one and mix coffee granules and vanilla essence and blend them really well.
  • Use a wooden spoon or fork to stir the melted chocolate. Now shift the flour and cocoa mixture to it. Mix them properly making sure there are no lumps in it.
  • Leave it aside to set for about 30 minutes. You can cover it to keep it safe.
  • Get your oven ready with about 350 degrees F.
  • Keep two cookies sheet with wax paper.
  • Place small sized cookies on the paper and bake.
  • Bake the cookies for about 10 minutes
  • Take them out from the oven and let it get cold
  • Chocolate cookies are usually soft when you take them out from the oven, so let it get cold.
  • You can bake the cookies a bit longer to make them even crispier.

Try different shapes like heart, star or teddy bear shapes to please kids. They would literally eat out of your hands with pleasure.
