How to Make Catapult

Catapults were first used in battlefields long back in 300 AD. Catapults are still a favorite among the young people for games and fun. They are also used in aircraft carrier launchers. 10 popsicle sticks
Masking tape
Scissors
Ruler
Paper
Rubber band

The process of making a catapult is as follows:

First and foremost we need to prepare the Popsicle sticks. Take 3 Popsicle sticks and cut them into 2 inch lengths and 6 Popsicle sticks into 4 inch lengths. The one stick left needs to be cut into 4 inch length and has to have one rounded end.
Now we have to build the base. Two 4 inch sticks and two 2 inch sticks needs to be taped together end to end. Fold up the stick to form a rectangle and then tape the open ends together. Inside the rectangle, to provide support, tape one 2 inch stick to the inside of one of the 2 inch sticks. Make sure that you use plenty of tape on either of the ends of the stick but not in its center.
Then you will have to tape two 4 inch sticks side by side. Repeat the taping process with another pair of 4 inch sticks also. Take one of the taped pairs of 4 inch sticks and tape it on the top of the rectangle. This will cover the rectangle on one side. Now take the other pair of taped 4 inch sticks and tape it to the top of the rectangle on the other side. Remember to leave a gap in the middle. Now strengthen the corners of your base with tape.
Now we have to make the hinge and the arm of the catapult. Take the rubber band and tape one end of it to the rounded end of one 3 inch stick. Now you need to inset the stick with the rubber band into the base of your catapult.
Next in line is the assembling of the catapult. You will now have to tape the catapult arm in the centre making sure that the hinge faces the catapult. Now just tape the end of the rubber band to the arm of the catapult. The rubber band should sit at an angle of 45 degrees.
We will now have to make the catapult cup. Make a cup by cutting up a piece of paper and then tape it to the catapult arm. Make sure that it is close to the end and you have enough room for your finger to press the catapult.
