Instructions
- Before you start the making process, leave the butter at room temperature for nearly half an hour. This will soften the butter thereby making the whisking process easier. Now put the butter in the mixer and whisk it for 2 to 3 minutes on high speed. If your mixer does not have the whisk attachment you can also use a
hand mixer for the purpose. - Now slow down the mixer. Slowly add confectioner’s sugar to the butter and allow it to blend with other ingredients on medium speed for 2 to 3 minutes.
- Also add cream or milk slowly and blend all ingredients together for another 2 to 3 minutes on medium speed.
- Finally add the vanilla extract and salt to the above mix. Whip the ingredients for 5 minutes on high speed. This process will make the icing soft and fluffy.
Use it right away or refrigerate the icing in an airtight container for a week. Make sure to allow it to sit at room temperature for half an hour and then re-whip it before using.
Tips
- Use sticks of unsalted butter
- Add some flavoring to accent your cake flavor.
- Use food coloring gel to add color to it.
