How to Make Beer

How to Make Beer How to Make BeerMany people prefer making beer at home ion stead of buying from market. It may be because they think it saves their money and also give them original taste. Besides that, preparing at home is more enjoying than buying it from any bar shop. Here instructions have been given to make Belgian white ale. You may need different ingredients and instructions for different kinds of beer.
Step 1
For making the starter wort, all you need are 2 quarts water, 1 package instant starter wort and 6 ounces dry malt extract.

As an initial step, boil the water and malt for 10 minutes. After that cool it to 60 degrees F. Use a thermometer to check the temperature. It needs to be around room temperature.

Apply a no-rinse sterilizer to cleanse the gallon container or follow the manufacturer’s directions. Now pour around 33 billion yeast cells into the wort. The quantity relies on your starter kit. Now cover the wort and lay down. Do not let the container to be airtight.
Step 2
You may not always need making the mash. It is possible to prepare flawlessly good beer with prepackaged malt extract. For this step, you need 11 pounds of grain and 11 quarts of water. For grains, we have taken Belgian pilsner malt of 5 pounds, flaked oats of1.0 pound, German wheat malt of4.5 pounds, and 0.5 pounds of caramel pils malt.

Collect all the components above in a container and heat it up to 150 degrees F and put it in that exact temperature for 1 hour.

Mash is done so that the starches in the grain turn to sugars and you can extract them into liquor. After 1 hour, check if the process has been complete successfully. Pull out a spoonful of mixture and pour a drop of iodine to it. It will change the color of the murky brown iodine to black if starch exists. It suggests that you should mash it more. If it holds adequate sugar, the color will not change.
Step 3
Place the mash into a lauter tun. A lauter tun separates the extracted wort. Use it to separate the sweet liquor from the grain.

Collect the liquor in a pot. This fluid is called the first runnings. Now warm the remaining of the stuffs at 180 degrees F in the lauter tun. Again collect the second runnings in the pot.

Step 4
At this step, you need 1/2 teaspoon of ginger, 1 ounce 4.8 percent alpha-acid Styrian Goldings hops and 1 cinnamon stick

Now you should boil the collected wort. After boiling, it offers a flavor similar to sweet corn. During this procedure, observe cautiously so that the wort will not boil over and becomes sticky.

Now add the hops to it and boil it for more 60 minutes. Then add 1/2 teaspoon of ginger in addition to a cinnamon stick 5 minutes before the boil completes.
Step 5
Cool the wort as soon as possible by dipping the pot into a ice water. Avoid adding ice directly to the beer. Transfer the beer to a sanitized carboy for first few days.

Attach a blowoff pipe to the crest of the carboy and place the other end of it under a couple inches of water to block it from the outside atmosphere within 8 to 26 hours, it will start strong fermentation.

After one week transfer the wort to another pot using a siphon and add a vanilla bean at this point. After two weeks, store the beer in bottle.
