Steps to Make Banana Cake

  1. Take one bowl and mix some Crisco, sugar and beaten eggs. The quantity of each ingredient will differ depending upon the size of the cake you want. However, for every ½ cup of Crisco, you need 1 and ½ cups of sugar and 2 eggs.

  3. Take another bowl and sift flour, baking soda and salt. Preferably for 2 cups of flour take 2 teaspoons baking powder, 1teaspoon baking soda, and 1/4 teaspoon salt. Now add this mixture to the creamy mix prepared in step 2.
  4. Now pour the prepared batter into a greased baking pan. Make sure to grease at least two, 8 inch round cake pans with flour and butter. Carefully fill both the cake pans with batter to ensure they fill up till the levels and there are no air pockets in the pans.
  5. Allow the batter to bake in a pre-heated oven at 350ºF for 30 to 40 minutes till you are sure that your cake is properly baked. To test whether the cake is ready or not, you can stick a toothpick in the cake and see whether the tooth pick comes out dry or sticky. If it comes out dry it means your cake is ready.

Now that your banana cake is done, prepare icing for the cake that will make your cake lot more attractive and scrumptious. Here is an easy method to make cake icing.

  1. Take some butter that is kept at room temperature and whisk the butter for few minutes in your mixer, with whisk attachment. Opt for high speed.
  2. Now turn the mixer down to slow and add some sugar. Mix on medium speed for few minutes.
  3. Slowly add cream or milk and mix for another 2 minutes.
  4. Now add vanilla and salt and whip the mix on high speed for at least 4 minutes till the icing acquires soft and fluffy texture.
