Items you need to make an origami crane can be easily colleted at home.

  • Some good quality color paper (good to have special paper for origami)
  • A pair or paper cutting scissors

With these simple things you are ready to make an origami crane.

  • Take a piece of paper. Cut it into a perfect square. You can do it by folding the paper from one end and stretching it to the border of the page making a cone shape. Now cut out the rest of the paper. Make sure you have a perfect triangle before you cut the rest of the paper.
  • Fold the paper at the middle vertically. You would find two rectangular sides that cover one of the colors inside.
  • After you pinch the middle line you created with your fingers using your nail, you can again straighten the paper.
  • Now take one corner with your tip and fold the paper diagonally.
  • Again you would be covering one color completely. Once you do it, you need to press the line well to make the fold visible on the paper.
  • Again open the paper properly and pull the other ends together. Once you do it you need to open the paper to see about three lines crossing at the center.
  • Now take two corners and fold it towards the inner side. Once you do it, you would note a small square type shape with two folded corners inside.
  • Take the open side of the small square and fold it towards the center. Repeat the process with the other side. Once you do it, you would see a small conical rocket type shape.
  • Now fold the top corner you felt after folding the open sides towards the center.
  • Now open one side and take the upper flap. Try to open the upper flap and let it remain out in a flat manner. You would get a diamond shape when you do it.
  • Now do it on the other side and you would have a proper diamond shape.
  • Take the open side and press it inside like you did initially to the small square.
  • When you do it on both sides, you would see that you have a diamond shape with a long slit from one end.
  • Take the other parts left out after the fold and fold them inside. Once you do it you would notice that it looks like the half of the diamond shape you made earlier.
  • Now take one of the narrower ends and twist the peak in such a manner that it looks like the head of the crane. Remember it’s just a twist at the peak. Small enough than the body.
  • Now pull the head out wards to make the neck shape.
  • Open the two upper folds to make its wings. You would get the paper open in perfectly with the shape of the wings. The tail is going to stand there after you have pulled the wings out.

With these easy steps you can make the origami crane and you can even decorate with some bedazzlers or color sketches as per your choice.
