Female Toga2 How to Make A Female TogaHave you ever tried a female toga costume? Well, it owes its origin to Roman culture. A highly comfortable outfit, toga is often worn on a toga party which is basically a costume party.

Making your own toga may be easy but for this you must follow the right method otherwise you will ruin your evening by constantly adjusting your toga. So, next time when you go for a toga party, try making your own toga costume. You will enjoy it.

Here are few instructions that will help you to make a female toga perfectly.

Things Needed

  • A piece of fabricFemale Toga
  • Safety pins
  • Something to wear underneath
  • A rope or piece of fabric to be used as belt

Steps

  1. You need a piece of fabric, approximately 4.5 by 1.5 meters. Opt for off white or cream clothing if you have a warm skin tone and bright white fabric for rosy complexion. However, if you plan to make your toga more expressive, then you may try bold colors too, provided it matches with the theme of the party. Authentic Roman clothing or some interesting leopard print toga will be a good option if you want to go for something more interesting.
  2. Once you finalize your clothing, learn to tie it properly. Hold the fabric at one side of your waist, leaving the entire length to be wrapped around you horizontally. Now carefully fold it over such that the crease is in line with the waistband. Make sure that the longer part of the fold hangs down to your ankles. Now pin up the corner with a safety pin to the waistband of your undergarment.
  3. After you pin up the one corner of the fabric to the waistband, wrap the fabric around you. Make sure that you wrap yourself somewhat snugly but not very tightly as it may become uncomfortable and you may find it difficult to move. Now pin the cloth on either side as many times as required but make sure that the final horizontal wrap is properly pinned because that is the most important fold.
  4. Now throw the rest of the fabric over your shoulder, and around your back. Pin up the end of the fabric to your waist. Use a stylish belt over the toga to give it a perfect look.
  5. Do not forget your Roman clothing accessories. Go for sandals that will complement your toga costume. You can also try out a laurel wreath for your head to give a complete look.

Tips

  1. You can either buy a new piece of fabric or you can also try a bed sheet.
  2. Female togas require stylish belts to emphasize the figure.
  3. Accessorizing the toga is most important for themed occasions.

Follow these simple steps, and get ready for your toga costume party.
