How to Install Firefox Addons
Today, the three most loved browsers in the world are Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome and internet explorer. Firefox is getting an ever increasing number of users everyday. Most people who love multiple pages and faster download of page prefer firefox to be their default browser. One of the other reasons, why this browser has been getting some much popularity is that it keeps adding extensions or plugins or addons to its browser making it equipped to meet the challenges of users on a regular basis.
If you have been using firefox regularly then you may know the methods of installing the addons well. But in case you are new to firefox, then you may need to know how to install these updates so that your browsing experience gives you the most out of your time. The things that may come to a newbie’s mind is how to get the extensions or addons and how to install them perfectly. There are about thousands of addons available on the internet that you can download and install which add value to your browser making it more powerful than ever.
Normally, when you download firefox browser, you get the regular browsers with the common features and you can choose from the addons list and install them separately. There are lot of features that can make your get maximum out of your browsing time and help you carry on your work faster and smoothly, without having to open separate pages that crowd or confuse your taskbar.
Most of the addons belong to Mozilla foundation and you can access these through your browser by selecting the ‘tools’ menu and clicking on the ‘Get more Extension’ option. The other way is to go to https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/extensions/ directly and choose the addons you wish to get in your browser.

Here is a list of steps that you need to follow to install addons manually:
- First you need to download the addon that you want to install by selecting the addons.
- If you are directly installing from the webpage (https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/extensions/), then a popup window would appear having two options, ‘Install Now’ or ‘Cancel’.
- Click on ‘Install Now’. This action would automatically add it to the firefox browser and your computer would send a popup message to ‘Restart Firefox’ or ‘Cancel’. If you chose to download few more addons before you restart your browser then click on the cross mark on the top right corner, it would save the extension to be installed when firefox is restarted.
- To install addons from different sites, then you would be prompted by your computer to save the file that you are downloading to install. The best place to save a file is the desktop if you are a new user.
- Click on the saved file and click on ‘Allow’ to let Firefox give permission to add that extension to the browser.
- Once you do that, the next message window would save the file to the tools menu and you can click on ‘Install Now’ to install the addon. Restart firefox finally to let the addon feature to be installed to the browser.
Note: Some addons from other sites are compatible to certain Mozilla Firefox versions. So make sure you have the proper version to install the addons.
