So, what do you do, when you are in a bad need of hiding what you have gained with so much passion! Well, the answer is simple, though it may take some labor to hide the aftereffects of love.

First of all, you notice a hickey immediately, the first thing you can do is rub some ice for about 5 minutes on the affected place to reduce the impact of its visibility. Do it with a soft hair brush handle or some tissue papers. Avoid using hands as you may end up with a bigger hickey to hide. But, if you still don’t get it off your necks or shoulders, then, here are some simple tips to get rid of hickeys or at least hide them.

Here are some home remedies:

  1. To reduce the impact of hickey, you can apply a lukewarm and moist tea-bag for hot compress, you can repeat the process by re-wetting with hot water till it disappears or lessens the purple blotch.
  2. Try applying toothpaste and massage it lightly on the skin. You can also leave a thin layer on the skin for about an hour or so that the skin absorbs the creams and looks refreshed. But as a safety measure, you may want to avoid going very close to anyone, if you don’t want to smell minty at the wrong time of the day.How to Get Rid of Hickeys 1 How to Get Rid of Hickeys (Hickies)
  3. The other way may prove a little tricky but works well. Try putting some spoons in the freezer for about 10 minutes and rub them on the hickey till the time, the spoon is warm. This process helps a lot if the purple blotch is dark and you want to lighten it to just a red mark.
  4. Two let the trapped blood smudge outside, you can put a toothbrush in hot water and rub it on the spot. This would leave a red mark that is spread rather than highlighting a spot.
  5. If all of the above methods fail, then you may want to apply some skin concealor to make the hickey to match with the rest of the skin area. You can try applying a water resistant concealor that stays for a longer time. Try for an exact color to match your skin, else it would appear smudgy.
  6. You can also try wearing a turtleneck or a scarf so that you don’t attract any attention. But wearing such a dress depends on the weather.

Finally, you get all love’s labor lost!
