How to French Braid Your Own Hair
French braiding is a very nice and stylish way of doing up one’s hair. But the only drawback associated with it is that it is a bit difficult to do it. Nevertheless, we shall try and simplify the process by following a step by step guide which will definitely ease off the process:
- You can begin with reaching back and hold a section of your hair from the crown of your head. Do not grab a lot of hair; just a small fistful of it will do the trick. Try and form this hair into a normal braid. Follow the normal process of dividing the hair into three sections and braid it. Now hold the braid with your left hand.
- Use your free hand to grab a smaller section of hair from above the right ear. Now you need to add it to the right section of hair and then cross that section over the middle one. Keep on holding the braid in your right hand now.
- Take a small section of hair from above the left ear and fold it to the left section of the braid. Then cross that section over the middle.
- Now, repeat the above steps till you have reached the base of your neck or where you want it to end. Tie it up with a rubber band or hair elastic.
There are certain tips which you can follow for a better French braid while trying to do it yourself:
- You can make some strands of your hair fall out of the braid. It looks nice and gives a cuter look to your face.
- There is also an option of leaving more hair as the ponytail at the end of the braid. This also gives a trendy look of a half French braid.
