Therefore, instead of eating those in huge quantity why not store it in freezer to eating at a right time. Some people like green bean recipe in winter days with other season vegetables. Green beans can taste much better in any other days too. Simply need some extra method to store it. Here are some useful steps:

Find fresh green beans

Collect your green bean that is as fresh as you need. Fresh beans are always better for any preservation. So chose green crunchy, fresh beans to store in freezer. If there, remains gap between the times of harvesting and freezing then store it in cool place. You can store beans putting ice in it. Avoid using beans that are old, over ripe or damaged. It nay spoils other good beans with that effect.

Wash and trim in smaller pieces

Wash the beans in a cold or Luke warm water to make it hygiene. Rinse the beans properly while wash. Take a sharp knife and cut the side corners of the bean. Cut each bean in a medium and average size. You can cut them in your own ideal size. Usually it may be one or one and half inches long. Of course, if you prefer long French beans you have to cut in lengthwise.

Blanch the beans

Take a pot of warm water and add some cold water in it. All fruits and vegetables contain enzyme and bacteria that over the time destroys all nutrient values. They also make possible to change the color, texture, and flavor of the vegetable. Green bean requires a brief heat treatment called blanching in hot water to destroy the enzymes and making it ready for freezing. This process must be for long time to kill the bacteria and enzymes. After finishing the blanching process, cover the pot and keep it in high temperature. You may use the blanching water several times. Add more water to keep the water level at required height.

Cool the beans

Cool the beans immediately in icy water and drain the beans carefully to another pot. Make it cool depending with the blanching process. You can cool it for five minutes if you have blanched the beans for the same five minutes. Cooling process is often dependent upon blanching process.

Bag the beans

Bag the beans in an air contained polythene or handbag. Look carefully that it must hard to get as much as air in the bag. Keep the beans in proper size in that bag. If you keep in a disorder phase then it may damage later. It is better to seal the bag with a vacuum food sealer. Remove the air by sucking the air out. If you are sealing with a vacuum sealer, look carefully that it does not leave an empty whole. Because, if it seems to put a whole may pass air and damage the beans.

Garden bean is a popular vegetable and require in many rich dishes whether mixed fried rice, chows, or mixed curries. So learn to freeze it properly to enjoy the availability in all season.
