Knowing how to fishtail braid might seem extremely complicated especially if you see one that is done neatly. If you are a beginner, learn a simple braid, become a veteran and then get into the variations of braids. And learning to make on others make things simpler. Once you master the concept, making it for yourself becomes a child’s play.
Unlike a simple braid where you need to part your complete hair into three sections, a fishtail braid requires that you part your hair into four sections. You could either start with a ponytail (that is recommended for learners) or right from forehead to give a complete look. Generally, fishtail braid looks best over long and thick hair though this could be tried on any amount of hair provided the ends are of equal size.
Let us have a closer look at how to make one that could be a productive guide for those who do not know how to make one and is enthusiastic.
- As with any other hairstyles, it is necessary that your hair is cleaned and washed with shampoo followed by immense conditioning.
- Fishtail braid does not necessarily require that your hair be wet. Yet a neatly combed hair that is little damp and free of tangles is preferable.
- Make a ponytail at the back with all your hair and then divide it into two sections, left and right.
- Carry a small portion of your hair from the left section with your left hand and cross it over your right section. Make the knitting tighter to prevent loosening.
- Now vice versa, take a portion (about an inch thick) from the right section and cross it over your left section.
- Repeat steps 4 and 5 until you reach the end of your hair.
- Let loose enough portion of hair and tie an elastic rubber band or a clip.
Once you are done with your closely knitted neat fishtail braid, you could add additional accessories to beautify your hairstyle with colored beads or pearls. Curling your hair at the front and some other sorts of beautification gives you a look absolutely suitable for parties.
