How to End a Friendship on Facebook

Many people use fake profiles and provide false information on Facebook to impress other users. Most of the time users add a person in their Facebook contact list based on the information displayed on his profile. Just like information, people also use images of other person and celebrities as their profile picture. Most of the user realized their fault after including a person in his contact list and giving him access to some personal and private information. But the popular social networking offers are set of options to end a friendship on Facebook and make a person a stranger in a simpler manner. You can use these options to remove a person from your friends list as well as blocking him from accessing your personal information.

Instructions

Removing a Person from Your Friends List

1. Open Facebook in a web browser and log in using your email address and password. You will be redirected to your home page.
2. Click on the Profile hyper link appearing at the top right corner of the page. You will be redirected to your Profile page.
3. You can see your list of friend appearing at the left hand side of the page. Click on the Friends link to view the complete list of friends.
4. Click on the profile of the Facebook friend with whom you want to end the friendship. You can see his/her profile page.
5. On the right hand side of the screen, you can see a Unfriend list appearing below the list of friends. Click on the hyper link.
6. Now you can see a confirmation dialog box asking you to remove the particular person from your friends list. Click on the Remove from Friend button to remove the person from your Facebook friends list.
7. The person will no longer be a part of your friends list and cannot access your personal information and photos any longer.

Blocking the Person to Access Your Personal Information

1. Open Facebook in a web browser and log in using your email address and password. You will be redirected to your home page.
2. Click on the Profile hyper link appearing at the top right corner of the page. You will be redirected to your Profile page. Click on the Edit Profile button appearing at the top right corner of the page.
3. You will be redirected to the Edit Profile page. Click on the Privacy Settings hyper link appearing at the right hand side of the screen.
4. Click on the Block Lists option appearing below the Sharing on Facebook form. Now you can see two textboxes asking you to enter the name and email address of the person, you want to block on Facebook. Enter the respective values and click on the Block the User button.
5. You will be shown with a dialog box displaying the profiles of the users matching with the name or email address entered by you.
6. Click on the Block button appearing next to the profile of the person you want to block.
7. Now you will be shown with a conformation dialog box asking you to block the user. Click on the confirmation button to block a person completely on Facebook.
