How to Edit Contact Details on Facebook

Many people struggle with the options in the menu of Facebook for editing their contact details. Security is one of the most important things while editing your contact details. You can customize the settings of your contact details according to your own will. You can allow unknown Facebook users to see your contact details or you can allow specific users on Facebook to access your contact details. You can also block some users from seeing your contact details on Facebook. Here are a few steps with which you can easily edit your contact details and reach your pals instantly and make new friends on Facebook.

Steps to edit contact details

I) Editing the friend list: Go to the search tab and put the name of the person you want to add to your contact list that is referred to as a friend list in Facebook. After finding out the person click on the option add as friend appearing to the right hand side of the person’s photograph or it may appear below the profile picture if you choose to view his/her profile. Or go to the account menu at the right hand side on the top corner and click on the option edit friend, you will get following options on the left hand side top corner- friends (people who are in your friend list), phone book (phone number of the people and other contact details in your friend list), find friends (this again has options inside it like find friends from orkut, email address etc. choose according to your will), request and invite friends. You can add or remove friends to your contact list from these above mentioned options.

II) Editing my account: Again this option is present in the account menu click on it and proceed. This option allows you to change few settings in your account like name, username, email address, linked accounts (accounts linked with your facebook like your website, orkut account, twitter account, etc.). With this freedom to customize your account setting you can manage to reach out to the people you want to or not.

III) Editing the privacy setting of your facebook account:

This allows the privacy and transparency of your facebook account. Again you will find this option in the account menu. This is the third option over there. This option will show your current privacy setting of facebook account. It shows the things which can be viewed by everyone, friends of friends and friends only, respectively. Here you can allow or restrict other facebook users from viewing specific information about you. These you can manage through customize settings appearing in that window at the left bottom corner. IV) Editing the profile: click on the profile menu you will get to know how your profile appears to other Facebook users. Here you will see an edit profile option at the right hand top corner. Click on it and edit your current city for your contacts to see.
