How to Draw Wolves
Drawing a realistic animal can be a real tricky task to do. But the sketching can be simplified if you disintegrate the different parts of the animal and relate them with some basic shapes. Here we will learn to draw a wolf. Though it may seem to be a bit difficult at the beginning but with the below given easy-to-follow instructions and some practice you will surely get it right.
Instructions
- First draw a slanting trapezium shape. Position it such that the narrower portion is upwards. This will form the head of the wolf, facing upwards.
- Now extending from this shape make a long elongated oval for the body of the animal, not including the legs and neck.
- For mouth, make a V shape at the front portion of the head or the trapezium. This will give an ‘open mouth’ look. Just like a howling wolf. Refine the outlines forming the mouth and head by adding necessary curves.
- Add small ear pointed at the back of the wolf and an eye by drawing a small black line. For nose shade the tip of the portion just above the mouth.
- Make a bushy tail coming from backside and hanging down in front of the animal. Add a leg by drawing rectangular shape inside the body towards the left. Make sure the upper portion of the leg is a bit broader and curvy. This will be the front leg. Add another leg by drawing a half oval starting from the end of the tail, touching the mid of the leg drawn earlier and ending at the tail portion. The figure will represent the side view of a sitting wolf.
- Now erase the unwanted lines and add some curves as and required like at the top of the head, ear, back and above the legs. Make the tail furry and bushy by adding further lines and curves to it.
- The structure of the wolf is complete. You can go on to add suitable colors to the sketch to make it more realistic.
Practice drawing the figure number of times and see how accurate you become with every drawing!
