The characters in the show are creatively distinct. Everything about each character is unique including their features and overall presentation.

Here are some guidelines that will give an idea of drawing Simpson’s characters.

Instructions

Firstly, draw an oval shape in the middle of a page. This will form the face of the character you want to draw.
Draw a line starting from the mid-point of the oval towards the left. Extend it towards the left end of the oval and then round it off, bringing it back to the circle for nearly half the length of your first line. This will be the Simpson’s character’s nose.
Next make the eyes of the character. For this, draw two smaller circles. Start making the first eye from the left end of the oval and touching the nose upper outline. The second must be just beside the first one, skipping few inches space, required between the two eyes. Make a curvy line inside these eye circles at upper portion for eye lids.
Draw two black dots for the pupils. Add eyebrows, either by making curved lines or straight lines as per your choice.
Now make the mouth portion which is usually very prominent in all the Simpsons characters. Draw a U shape in such a manner that the open side of U is facing towards the left of the face and not upwards. Make sure the upper line is longer than the lower line. Now merge the lines of this’ open mouth’ with that of the face outlines.
If you want you can add teeth to the character’s face by drawing a smaller, parallel line to the upper potion of the mouth, curving it a bit at its ends. Make a closed V shape for the tongue at lower portion of the mouth.
Add ears to the character. For this, you can draw a semi circle. Also make an inverted and slightly curved Y shape within the ear just to give a finer look.
Add a suitable hair style to the character. You can select any type of hairstyle resembling the character you want to portray. You can either add long curvy lines for longer hairstyle or simple hair look with few lines. If you want you can also give it bald look or add a cap to the character’s head.

Your Simpson character’s face is complete. Further, you can proceed to add its body parts too. But first try to make your face sketching perfect and then proceed to other details. With some attentive observation and practice you can surely create amazing sketches.
