How to Draw Elephant-4 Steps
The big, gray creatures that you often read about in story books or see on television can be fun to draw. We are talking about elephants. They are one of the biggest jungle animals that have very striking features. Their huge size body, long trunk, large ears and dangling tail is not very difficult to ketch. If you want to create a perfect sketch of this animal, then carefully read the below given instructions.
Instructions
- First draw an oval shape for the head. Make sure the head is vertically long so that you can properly fit in the facial features. Also keep the shape horizontally wide so that facial features are not crammed. Draw another larger oval, overlapping the head portion.
- Now add eyes to the head portion by making tear shapes, with small dots inside. Also draw the nose/trunk of the animal. Make an elongated oval shape just under the eyes you drew. You can either keep the nose vertical or bit curled up at the end, depending upon what look you want. Add few lines inside the trunk for better look. Also add two boomerang shapes next to the nose/trunk for the tusks on each side.
Create the mouth of the elephant. Place it just beside the nose. Shade the mouth with a pink or red color to make it more realistic. Add big, wide ears on both horizontal sides of the elephant. Make curvy triangles for the ears.- Draw four slightly curved rectangular shapes for the legs. Add small half ovals to the legs for the toes. Make the tail of the elephant. Draw it by making curved lines. Add small oval shape at the end of the tail.
Your elephant sketch is done. Add shadings for finer look.
Tips to Remember
- Try not to use dark lines while drawing. Instead, start with very light outline of the elephant, and then make the lines darker once you have it the way you want it.
- Practice makes man perfect. So, practice sketching the caricature for sometime and see the difference.
