How to Draw a Puppy
Puppies are so cute to look at that they have become a loved subject for drawing among all art lovers. Puppies are also very easy to draw. One can draw puppies by etching out basic shapes of circles and squares. You can try to draw a puppy by practicing basic geometric shapes that can help you later while drawing it actually. In this article we shall know about the method of drawing a puppy by following certain steps that can help in making our task easier and simpler:
You shall have to begin by drawing a circle in a paper. This circle will represent the head of the puppy. After drawing the circle for the head of the puppy, you can move on to sketch another circle that is larger in size than the head. This larger circle has to be drawn beneath the head. This will represent the body of the puppy. Make sure that both these circles overlap each other a bit.- After you have finished drawing both the circles which represent the head and the body of the puppy, you have to erase out the line where the bottom circle overlaps the top of the head. Now draw a straight line just underneath the torso of the puppy. This line will represent the ground where the puppy is sitting in your drawing.
- You can now move towards making the nose and mouth of the puppy. For doing this you have to draw an upside down triangle and then draw a fishhook shape underneath it. These will make the nose and mouth of the puppy that you are drawing. We can move towards making the eyes of the puppy. This can be done by drawing two upside down U shapes having a line underneath them. You can then draw thick black dots that will make the pupils in the eyes.

Now we can draw the ears of the puppy. The ears have to be drawn on either side of the head of the puppy. The shape of the ears depends on your desire. You can make them as long and floppy or short and pointy. You can also draw a tongue hanging out from the mouth of the puppy. - We shall have to make the paws of the puppy. For drawing this you have to make one circle each on the top sides of the torso of the puppy. We can now focus on making the back paws of the puppy. This can be done by drawing one semicircle each at the bottom sides of the torso of the puppy. You can also choose to add a tail to the body of the puppy.
- After having completed all the basic shapes in the body of the puppy, you have to move on to adding some details to the drawing. These details can be anything ranging from stripes, spots to facial markings. Here you can also choose to add some scenery in the background. You can make the puppy sit in a garden or may be inside a room. This is entirely dependent on the level of creativity with which you are drawing the puppy. Be innovative in your drawing to make it unique in nature.
- The last step in the task of drawing a puppy is to add colors to the puppy. You can either choose to be realistic with the colors or you can also try out some cartoon colors and add them to your drawing of the puppy. Basically you have to color your puppy in such a manner that makes it cute and lovable.
