Instructions

  1. First draw an oval shape for the face. Divide this oval into two uneven halves by drawing vertical a line across it. Now divide the oval horizontally also. First draw a line leaving some space from the top for creating the hairline. Next divide the rest of the area into three parts for the eyes, nose and mouth.
  2. Now let’s move on to the other parts of the body. Make a curved line just below the oval shape and extend it for the backbone. Add chest and hip areas by drawing rectangular shapes. The rectangle lines should be a bit curved near the shoulders. Make cylindrical shapes for the arms and elongated curvy rectangles for the hands. The sketch here will depict a man with his hands in his pockets.
  3. Add ears to the side of the head by drawing a C shape, between the eyebrows and nose portion. Now extend the line to complete the hairline. Add a U shape for the chin, extending it to form the broad jaw lines.
  4. Now extend two curved lines from the head portion for making the shoulders and the arms. Sketch in the sides of the shirt. For finer detail just make two irregular ovals shapes between the body portion and arms so as to separate the body sides from the arms.

  7. Also make some curved lines to show the wrinkles in the shirt area and sleeve bents. Add pleats to the pants below the waistband by making straight lines.
  8. Now give finishing tough to the sketch. Use some straight lines in the waistband to show ribbing. Add short squiggles for the hair finishing. Also add shadings to the hair and jaw lines. Fill in some pattern on the shirt.
