PSP gives you all round entertainment and is like an addiction at times.

Though some people use the PSPs primarily for playing games, it is also widely used to listen to music and playing videos. It’s like you have your complete entertainment needs handled by one device that is the PSP. But you must learn how to use the device effectively so that you get all that you want in just a matter of clicks.

The PSP can be used to view full length videos and with good sound quality as well. So, how do you get some movies or videos downloaded to your PSP? There is nothing to get apprehensive about it if you are a newbie. The process is pretty easy and probably you may need the user manual if you are doing the device for the first time.

Make sure your videos are available in your personal computer or laptop. If you do not have the videos you want to transfer to your PSP, then you would need to download or copy the movies first to your computer. You can download videos using the internet or you can copy videos from CDs or DVDs. You would need a DVD Player (optional), DVD ripper (optional), PSP video converter, a computer and an USB Cable.How to Download Videos to Psp

Settle down with the things mentioned and you are now ready to take your first step to download videos to the PSP. Follow these simple steps and get the PSP loaded with your videos.

  1. Usually, the USB 2.0 cable has one large end and one small end. You need to fix the smaller end to your PSP. Connect the larger end to the computer or laptop.
  2. Check the USB symbol to know which side to fix to the computer.
  3. If you are using a PC, the USB port is generally in the front or back of CPU. In case you use a Laptop, then search for the USB ports, which are generally placed at the sides or the back.
  4. Select the ‘USB Connection’ mode in your PSP. You can do it through the ‘Settings’ menu.
  5. This action would prompt a pop up window to appear in your computer. The pop up would give you some options, from which you need to select ‘Open Folder to View Files’.
  6. Once you double click on it, you would get inside the PSP through your system. You would notice various folders inside the PSP. Select the ‘Videos’ folder and open it by double clicking on it.
  7. Select the video files of your choice which you would like to download or transfer to your PSP.
  8. Copy these files and paste it in the ‘Videos’ folder of the PSP.
  9. Close the PSP folder once you complete the copy or download process. This may take some time.
  10. You can now safely remove the hardware by right clicking on the icon showing on the taskbar of your system (bottom right corner). This is important as you may loose data, if you do not safely remove it. Alternatively, you can press the ‘O’ button in the PSP, which would disable the connection.

Tips: The PSP supports only a certain specific types of videos like MP4, so make sure you have the files in that format. In case, you don’t have them in the format, you can use the PSP videos converter and convert the files to a compatible format.
